Top Destinations to Visit in Your RV

lone road going to mountainsNot sure where to head out this summer for your annual family RV vacation? Here are some popular places that are both beautiful and RV friendly. Be sure to plan ahead by getting tickets and updating your RV insurance before hitting the road. Here are some of the best RV destinations in the United States.

Crater Lake

Pure blue water and gorgeous green vegetation will have you snapping so many photos you might just need a new memory card! Two picturesque islands and high cliffs make it a fun place to explore by foot.

Colonial Williamsburg

You don't have to be a history buff to enjoy a trip back in time to experience life as it was for our forefathers. There are more than 80 historic structures still standing in the town that's time remains steeped in 18th century culture.

Mount Rushmore

See one of man’s most amazing creations when you view the four former presidents faces carved into the hills of South Dakota. Once you've marveled at them, head to the Crazy Horse Memorial. Explore the Black Hills, and even try your hand at panning for gold if you wish.

The Grand Canyon

Nature doesn't get much more spectacular than this. Hike along the canyon, take in the beautiful scenery and see just what a river and some time can create! The canyon is 18 miles wide and 277 miles long.

Redwood National Park

Besides seeing the infamous gigantic redwood trees, this park boasts oak woodlands, spacious prairies and nearly 40 miles of coastline, which supports a diverse group of wildlife.

Cape Lookout State Park

Just southwest of Tillamook, Oregon, you can park near the beach and enjoy the beautiful ocean views from your vehicle as you rise. Brew your favorite morning beverage and breakfast on the uncrowded beach.

Lake of the Ozarks

With over 1,000 miles of shoreline, great dining and quaint shops, this area tucked away in south west Missouri is a destination you won't want to pass up. Parks offer hiking and bicycling opportunities for athletic people, as well as plenty of foliage and animals for nature lovers.

To avoid crowded campgrounds and long lines at attractions, plan to travel at non-peak times. Avoid Memorial Day weekend, the week before and after the Fourth of July and Labor Day weekend.

Review your coverage before visiting these amazing sites. Call HIS Insurance & Services at (800) 240-3654 for more information on Northern Virginia RV insurance.
